ADAMA China R&D Center (Nanjing) is looking for a Formulation Laboratory Manager to establish and lead the efforts of the development of new formulation in China. Successful candidate must have an in-depth knowledge of lab scale process development of formulations. He should have strong business acumen, be able to make decisions, work independently, and be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, verbal and written, as well as organizational skills. The candidate should possess the ability to pull together ideas and suggestions, shape them into a vision, and then get this implemented.

Responsibilities

People leader of a formulation team.
Identify the asset investment (people and fixed assets) needed to formulate and create a research and development team. Develop and manage annual budget to execute strategic plan.
Develop a high performing team driven by solid talent selection, training, development and succession planning.
Develop a comprehensive research and development plan which will include objectives, strategies, and introduction of new products designed to promote the ADAMA China product portfolio.
Establish a priority matrix for the projects that support the short and long term work plan.
Collaborate with global leadership team, providing input for strategic direction.
Create standard procedures and requirements to ensure proper experimental design is followed and research records are maintained.
Identification of innovative product solutions to meet consumer and market needs.
Collaborate with marketing people to provide strategic plans.
Leading the (a) Process Development, (b) Improving the efficiency of current process, (c) Validation of the process and methods, and (d) Scale up to production.
Hands on development activities as required meeting project objectives.
Assist in troubleshooting production batches; Make process improvements to improve reliability or cycle time.
Develop and enforce all laboratory safety, security and housekeeping policies and procedures.
Foster and environment of continuous improvement through innovation and benchmarking to ensure compliance with product research and design processes.
Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive information, and anticipate industry changes.
Responsible for the quality of research and quality of products developed by the Formulation lab.

Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Chemistry - Advantage
Experience of 7+ years in formulation R&D with at least 2 years as a Formulation Lab Manager.
Knowledge of domestic and international regulations.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Strong math, analytical, and problem solving skills. Schematic and blueprint reading ability.
Demonstrated ability to attract talent, coach, develops, and retains staff.
Ability to travel as required.
Strong ability to organize prioritizes, make decisions, and delegate responsibility effectively.
Strong leadership and people-facing skills, including proficiency in verbal and written communication.
Understanding of Product Development methodologies and industry-accepted quality standards.
